Critics are raving about the new "Man of Steel" movie set for release this June. It is also the starting point for DC universe to come together and team up just like the guys over in Marvel did. So with all of the hype there are big expectations.

With all of those expectations, there are surprisingly 2 familiar things that will be missing from the movie. These are things that were in the other film, but have been omitted from the film. Are you curious to hear what they are?

The first thing is Kryptonite. Kryptonite is the shred of matter that was torn away from Superman's planet Krypton when it exploded. It's the one thing that can take Superman's powers away and make him vulnerable to attack. It appears the reason that Zach Snyder (the director) decided not to add this was to ground the character. By show that audience that Superman can be more vulnerable to attack, it makes him more relatable and it will keep us on the edge of our seats. Now this does not mean that we won't see it in the future, we just will not see it in this movie.

The 2nd thing or person that will not see is Lex Luthor. Lex has pretty much taken part in all of the Superman movies, except Superman 3. He is probably Superman's most known adversary, even though he has no powers. It does though he will be mentioned in the movie kind of how Norman Oscorp was talked about in "The Amazing Spiderman 2". It's been said in the movie the Lex is working on some new AI technology that would "revolutionize technology unlike anything Metropolis has ever seen." I guess that leaves things open for the next movie.

Even with these 2 things missing, I really don't think it will make a difference. I actually think it's a great departure from what we were used to seeing in the past. As you looked at the last 3 superman movies it became obvious that change was needed, and change is what we got.
